I'm spending money like a millionaire
But I make thirteen thousand dollars if I'm lucky in a year
It's alright it's alright
My life's a public display
Of what it means to be American and dream it all away on a lie

A fantasy from the electric displays
I collide with a vision of a predetermined fate
It's alright it's alright
We'll still take more than we need
When there's more music than mouths
The more we write the more we bleed into life

I was born into the valley of the shadow of man
Where every human came from woman came from
She is the origin of all life of all life
She took a book out of my page
Copy-written in the kitchen during every golden age

I took the the trip to the valley of the shadow of the beast
There was a table prepared the woman brought me a feast
I survived I survived
I took more than I needed
Now I'm caught at the beginning of the middle of the end of my life
